Hey y'all!

Long time no post, sorry about that!

Life just became a tad hectic for a moment with school ending, work picking up, and family things to do.

Anyhoo, I am back and ready to speak to you guys about some new information.

Since my last post I have lost a few more pounds.   I am now 126 lbs.  So clearly its slow but steady wins the race, in my case :p

I've been doing a lot of standing and walking around with my new job so I believe this has had a pretty good impact on my fitness level.  As well, I have taken the time to actually go to the gym more often.

I do not know about you guys but I absolutely HATE to run...not sure why...I guess I am not one of those people who finds it fun or relaxing..BLAHH.  I've actually gotten into the bike thing.  I just put on some pumped up music and then go!  I do not do hard cycling because I want to achieve a cardio/fat loss effect vs. building bulk.

Cycling is pretty good too because it activates all your lower body muscles as well as some core and arms.  I remember one particular session I burned 350 calories...so I was impressed!  It didn't bore me to death nor overly tire me out.

I haven't been doing that 7-day diet I had spoken about earlier.  I couldnt even handle day 1 so I knew day 2-7 was a no go.  Instead, I have focused on reducing carbs.  I have successfully cut out pasta, cookies, cakes, and muffin type things.  I have also reduced my intake level.  The next big thing I for sure want to do is NOT SNACK AT NIGHT!

URGHH...this is probably the main reason why I cannot shed the pounds.  Because after I have snacked I lay down..and then the food just sits around to amass on my a**.

I also tried the gluten free and dairy free thing for a few days.  There are some really great options out there that actually taste very good so I recommend trying it out.  Even if your not fully eating gluten free, any bit counts..right?

Ok ladies and gents, here is what I'd like us all to be responsible for:

1. No more late night snacks
2. reduce carbs
3. increase activity
4. more fruit...yummy yummy...

So, its late and I need to sleep....please comment below with any great pumped up music suggestions that you guys love for the gym!  Here is one I've recently fell in love with...Finale by Madeon.  Cheers.

Hey y'all!

So day one of the 7 day diet was a semi-bust....

I started the day with the baked apples and then I went to work and ate a grapefruit.  By the time 10 am rolled around I felt lightheaded and nearly sick.

After taking a break I decided I needed to get just something into my stomach.  So I bought a chicken wrap.  It was decently healthy.  Lettuce, cucumber, chicken, and then some sort of mayo/caesar dressing.

Once I ate I felt a massive improvement.  The rest of the work day I ate some oranges.  Also, it happened to be the end of a hard school/work week for myself and a few colleagues and to celebrate we ended up going to a pub.  So as per the diet I am not supposed to drink anything other than water or green tea.  I had a beer and fruity shot along with nachos and wings.

So...clearly not the best start...but on a good note I didn't overeat any of these junky foods.

Also, as a bit of a side note...I have been doing A LOT of walking (last 2 weeks).  For example, 3-4 times a week I have gone on 1 hour 45 min. walks with my dad.  I have noticed a difference even in this short amount of time.

My arms are leaner and more firm, whereas before they were beginning to sag.  Mild tonnage in the buttocks/thigh area.  Finally (and this is the weird part) I have broken out with some minor acne.

After doing some research and reading some books of nutritionists, the simple way to explain what the acne is, is this:

-------Excess toxins stored in the fats of the body are finally being released and the only outlet is through the pores of the skin-------

So, I think it is worth the blemishes :p

Tomorrow is Day 2 and only veggies!  Fingers crossed I keep to it tomorrow.

Good night,

-Fern Girl

P.S.  I weighed in at 127 lbs. this morn!

Pre-day 1 Diet

Good afternoon ladies and gents,

So, my first diet trial is a 7 day weight loss program.  I found this off of a guy's website who is very physically active and athletic.  He needed to quickly shed 5-10 pounds in order to compete so this is his "healthy" and "nutritious" diet!

Here is the link:

(copy and paste it to your search engine)

Today is a Wednesday and right after I finished work I went to the grocery store.  As you can see for day 1 and 2 there are a lot of fruits and veggies required.

I bought 4 apples, 3 oranges, and 2 pink grapefruits.   What I did was cut up two of the apples and left them raw, then packaged them in a tupperware to bring to work.  Next, I cut some tinfoil and then placed 2 sliced up apples on that.  I sprinkled cinnamon and then wrapped and baked.

The cinnamon apples will be for my breakfast...theres no way I will eat sour and cold apples in the morning :p

I will also just pack the grapefruit and orange with my lunch and eat at work.

Now, here is where I start to fizzle.  My mother would never let me skip on dinner with the family.  SOOOOO I will most likely end up eating some chicken and salad.

I will post again tomorrow!  Goodnight!
Hey there!

So you probably ended up on my blog after searching for things like...WEIGHT LOSS...or DIET!  Well, do not be ashamed or annoyed any longer!

I'm an 18 year old girl who is finishing first year college...still 4 more years to go !  I am studying to be a paralegal.  Just an average 5'4" girl with brown hair and eyes.  I currently weight 130 pounds!  This isn't overweight by any means...believe me I know...except with the level of activity I do along with my BMI and height I am beginning to pass the benchmark weight for my specifications.

Over the course of a year I have steadily gained weight and am now the heaviest I have ever been.  By no means am I unhealthy (yet..eeks) but I better nip this in the butt now, before I need to surgically nip it down the road :p

So what am I doing?  Well..as we all know there are many different diets out there, some good and some not so good.   My goal for this blog is to try different diets and post to you the results and what I found out while on them.

This way I can get the real information across to you and maybe we can even go on a journey together?
So, as the weeks will pass please leave comments and any tidbits that you have found while doing these methods.

I hope we can do this as a team and become as healthy and motivated as we can!

XOXO
